In the Blaster Master, the main character of the game is Jason. He has a pet named Fred – a frog. One day Fred jumped out of his sandbox and crept back into the yard. Later, Fred approached a mysterious radioactive box and was transformed into considerable size. Next, Jason chased after Fred, but Fred and the mysterious dangerous box fell into a pit. Jason jumped after Fred into that strange hole and saw an armored car. The car is called SOPHIA THE 3RD, a special combat vehicle used to defeat aliens and mutant creatures inside the earth. After controlling SOPHIA, Jason began his journey to fight aliens and search for Fred.
